Ray Leaning
is an artist specialising in erotic images of the female form. His chosen
media are pencil & conté on paper, and oil on canvas. Recently
he has begun to self-publish some of his more popular paintings and sketches
as limited edition prints.
Ray was born
in Lincolnshire in November1959. As a teenager he fell in love with
rock music, motorbikes, girls and comic book art (Marvel & DC).
After a varied early career (crane driver in Scunthorpe steelworks;
motorbike courier in Manchester; modeller of life-size fiberglass dinosaurs
. . .) Ray was accepted as a mature student at Exeter College of Art.
He graduated in Fine Art Painting in 1984. After a brief period teaching
art, he began working as a graphic designer in the field of illustrated
publishing in Soho.
Thirty
years on, Ray now lives in Scotland with Carol, several offspring and
a '76 Bonneville. He still does the odd piece of freelance work as an
Art Director and Consultant producing
graphics - from company logos & identities to magazine blueprints,
from brochures to advertising campaigns for small businesses and international
publishers - but has at last found time and space for his first love
- painting sexy ladies.
His artwork
has been featured in: Cartier International Polo Magazine, The Erotic
Review, The Independent, SW magazine, Penthouse, Ritual, Secret Magazine,
Skin Two, Marquis, Forum, in Reuters news reports and on BBC
and L!VE TV.
